Line editing

Line Editor / Copy editor

After you’ve written your novel, you’ll want detailed feedback. That’s what I do. You might have worked with a developmental editor or a content editor who provided a high-level overview of the story, but when you’re ready for every line to be checked, send it to me for a line edit. I’ll look for issues with grammar, spelling, punctuation, POV changes, filtering, sentence structure, fact-checking, and story consistency, as well as correct use of American idioms and slang. All suggested corrections will be per the Merriam-Webster online dictionary and the 17th ed. of the Chicago Manual of Style, which is the standard for most American publishers.

I'm a published author of contemporary romance and paranormal romance. Editing romance is my jam, but I also enjoy working on cozies, fantasy, and other genres. I currently do line edits and copy edits for indie authors, as well as copy editing for a midlist publisher.

Please message me using the "Contact" button to send me the first 2-3 pages of your project for a free sample edit. That way, we can know if I can provide the feedback you need. I also have a blog where you can find more details, as well as a gallery of some of the novels I’ve worked on over the past few years. That link can be provided upon request.

Shorter projects, such as short stories, novellas, contest entries, and partials for submission to an agent or publisher, are welcome. My usual turnaround time is 2-3 weeks, depending on projects already scheduled. Of course, I'll be sure to let you know if your project will take longer than that to complete. Let's chat! :)
